This morning I dug out my old church cookbook to make Monkey Bread, a recipe contributed by the Princesses' Great-Grandmother.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
4 cans of biscuits
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 cup butter
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Grease a bundt pan.
3. In a small saucepan, combine the butter, 1 cup sugar, and 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon. Bring to a boil.
4. While the stove top mixture comes to a boil, get busy mixing 1/2 cup sugar and 1 tsp. cinnamon in a bowl. Cut biscuits into quarters and roll in sugar mixture.
5. Pour the stove top mixture into the bottom of the bundt pan.
6. Now start layering in the biscuit quarters you've dredged in the sugar and cinnamon mixture.
7. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes.
8. Remove from oven and invert onto a serving dish. (I use the trick of putting the plate upside down on the bundt pan and turning it all right side up at once.)
9. Serve to Princesses and other royal family and friends warm.
